Thanks both for your input. It is the RTB2004 fully featured for 2000e (rarely used). It seemed like a better choice than MSO5000 series with a more mature firmware and less bugs, 10 bit ADC and better display.
I am missing out active probe interface and possibly some megahertz, therefore I´m trying to see whether or not someone have successfully hacked the 7000 series :-). The SDS5000 series does also look interesting but cannot find if there is any hack available.
BTW what is the difference between MSO7014 and DSO7014, did the MSO series include the LA?
It all depends on what you are looking to do. The RTB2004 is certainly a very good scope but it does not have much memory.
Full featured at 2000€, It sounds like a good deal anyway for me....But it's twice as expensive as the MSO5000. It's hard to compare these two.
The difference between the DS7000 and the MSO7000 is the 2 channel AWG and the logic probes interface. The probes are included in the package as well as the front panel cover.
At regular price, the SDS5000X is to consider.
All these scope are hackable, the only thing is that there seems to be old stock out there so we don't know which version of the front end we are going to have on the SDS5000X. So maybe you can hack it up to 500Mhz..or maybe 1Ghz.
And you have to add another 330+€ for the logic probes.
I let myself be tempted by the low price of the MSO7000 but at the normal price, maybe I would have chosen the SDS5000X.
If you are interested in that, know that the SDS5000x has a 10Mhz In/out that the MSO7000 doesn't have.
