Was there ever any resolution to this transient behaviour ??
What transient behavior? Could you be more specific please?

Hello, I know this is an old thread but I am a beginner and I was considering the SPD1305X for my first bench power supply. From what it looks like it was determined that this supply doesn't have any significant voltage overshoot, is that correct? Near the end of the thread I couldn't tell if that was the final verdict, thanks.
Welcome to the forum.

Yes they are well behaved.

To add to some screenshots earlier in the thread, 2 more but with the output loaded with just a 10x probe.
SPD1305X Version 2.1.1.8 firmware (2019-04-29)
Power ON and output OFF (default)

Channel ON set to 5V 5A

Does the SPD1168X have programmable over-voltage and programmable over-current protection/cutout? I'm reading the user manual for it, and it doesn't mention it as far as I can see. This is a feature my QL355P has, so I'm comparing that to candidates for a 2nd supply.

Not programmable AFAIK only a set point for reverse OV that is specified as 22V+2V for SPD1168X.

EasyPower gave me an "Invalid update" message with the update. Re-applied v2.1.1.8 as a test, then v2.1.1.9 updated as expected.

Nice to have an OCP option when needed, I was thinking about missing that feature a few weeks ago. Being firmware driven, CC Mode kicks in well before OCP triggers in about 300ms. Both CC and OCP settings remain active at their set points. Worked well to protect a simple Red LED under reasonable conditions.

Not in the SPD1000X manual but found in the SDP5000X manual on P82/82

Nothing common with SPD5000 series commands.

For SPD1168X you can set/get voltage/current with fully formatted string e.g.:

ch1:volt 5.000
ch1:volt?
5.000

ch1:curr 0.5
ch1:curr?
0.5

but you cannot set/get ocp in this way, no ch1:ocp 2.345 will be accepted.

But!!!
you can just set/get voltage/current/ocp via simplest format! :

volt 4.534
volt?
4.534

curr 0.6
curr?
0.6

ocp 2.0
ocp?
2.0

*idn?
Siglent Technologies,SPD1168X,SPD13DCD7R1985,2.1.2.11,V2.0

As you can see, I have SPD1168X with HW version 2.0 and fw version 2.1.2.11

I still have a question about SPD1168X. I have siglent 4 devices (SDS2104X+, SPD1168X, SDG2042X, SDM3055). Everything is connected to a LAN, but only 3 devices can be detected via VXI-11.
For the SPD1168X I have to enter IP address manually. Is there any way to find SPD online?
