New Uni-T UT61 series (UT61e+)

Lado:
For a moment I thought the 161 had temperature reading. That would make me angry lol.

I know that the fuses would need to be resoldered, or the holders, that is. I was wondering if it's worth the trouble.

Generally I'm happy with the meter. Much faster than the old one. The low battery notification and OL notification that I got when measuring a power outlet are the two things that annoyed me.
I measure 240V AC and I get the buzzer and the OL reading. Is that a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Thank you for your help!

No huge difference, but yeah, they do sell them cheaper, I bought mine for just $55 last year from AliExpress. One thing to note is that 61E+ PCB has been updated with new revisions unlike 161E, which probably won't see any updates since it is a certified device, meaning Uni-t should pay for inspecting every new revision, which probably won't happen. If you ask me, sell it and get a Brymen, period.

Hello, so what is actually updated on 61e+ pcb and not on 161e? Is it anything important?

Hey guys,
I'm new here. So please forgive me if I am replying incorrectly or posting in the wrong place.
I am going to buy a new low-budget multimeter. I was thinking about the Uni-t 61E+, because of its good abilities. But after reading some posts, now I am not sure. The Fluke 15B or 17B can meet my needs. And I can afford them.
What do you recommend?
Are they really better? do they make a difference in work?

What, specifically, calls your attention?

It isn't a meter that I'd personally buy. You can get the same accuracy for less
money (eg. AN870) and I don't put the UT61E+ in the "safe" meter category.

The ONLY reason I'd advise somebody to buy a UT61E is for the data logging
ability. If you don't need that then there's no compelling reason to buy one.

They're certainly better built, safer, and more reliable.

I'd prefer a Brymen for best value for money but if Brymen are difficult to
buy where you live then a Fluke 17B+ is a good choice.

There's good tests of both meters here:

Dave's thoughts on the UT61E+ are here:

And Fluke 17B (nb. old video of the original 17B model, not the 'plus'):

Thank you for your guidance. That was really helpful. Definitely I decided to buy fluke. 🙏🙏🙏
