Does anyone have one of these that they actually like? All of us occasionally need to do electrical stuff in addition to electronics, and it seems like the common element in reviews of NCVTs are people complaining how each model is uniquely garbage. My preference would be for always-on with an audible option, so that rules out the Fluke testers. I have a cheapie right now but the audible alarm is flaky, so I'm looking to replace it.

The Fluke ones really are awful. I bought one figuring it was hard to go wrong with Fluke... nope, it's easy, just buy their non-contact crud. I managed to unload it on a colleague. I now have a Klein NCVT-2 (https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/electrical-testers/non-contact-voltage-tester-pen-dual-range-12-1000v-ac-or-48-1000v-ac) that pretty much just works and seems to be perfectly fine for the little use it gets. The Klein site says it's out of production (though seems to be in the channel), but the NCVT-2P looks much the same, except IP54 rated.
