This battery tester was given to me to replace the LCD. That I did, without any problems. However, the display is gibberish (including several Neptune tridents) no matter which LCD is installed (standard Hitachi).
All LCD modules (16x2) check good in a tester.
I removed the "protective" epoxy brush painted on all the IC's.
The µP is a 68HC705, and from what I see, it is loading garbage from the NVRAM, ID unknown, with a battery long ago dead (mfg. 1996). No support is available.
After I removed the NVRAM, the 68HC705 loads nothing, (blank screen).
Obviously the boot code was in there....
So my question is this,
1) Has anyone seen this tester?
2) Is there any way to dump it regardless of battery?
3) Did anyone ever dump their own NVRAM from this thing?
Purely sentimental value for this person. Any help would be welcome.
