I stumbled over a large collection of old test equipment today. A family was selling the stuff after a guy that had been collecting various bits of things for the last half century or so (Bjørns Samling). Most of the test gear came from a TV repair company that closed down in 1989 or thereabouts, and I ended up getting some of it. This was the biggest collection of vintage gear I've seen :D

A few really nice Leader instruments I recognize from my time or repairing Audio and TV gear.
What a great collection.
Did they sell everything locally or also over the internet?

As far as I know they only sold locally, and they preferred it to stay here as this was somewhat of a private museum collection.

That "ancient multimeter" looks to be an Avo 7 or 8 (I'm sure someone will come along and correct me in a minute). They're actually very good, well made instruments and I still find use for mine fairly regularly.

I think it's an Avo 8 mk5. Great meters when they're working, perfect for measuring very high voltages and still good for low voltages so long as the 20,000 ohms / V meter doesn't affect the reading too much. Typically still better than the spec'd <3% accuracy years after they were last checked.

It is an AVO model 8, not sure of the Mk ?, the 8 Mk5 being very different.
Got one exactly the same and a Mk5 as well, it has a 3 KV range.
Very handy for HV work with a 2.5 KV range. :-+

Steindorff & Co stereo microscope.

That is not actually a stereo microscope. It only has one objective lens. It is a binocular scope only, but still nice to have.

Hmm, good to know. I've only used microscopes with one eyepiece before.
The signal generator seems to work, but the selection switch is a bit dodgy.

Looks like you're going to need a bigger table!

What about old home computers? Was it close to Oslo? =)

I only found manuals for computers, and an old keyboard without much use or value :/
It's in Porsgrunn, ~2.5 hrs south of Oslo.
