Going to order my first lot of testing gear. Does this stuff seem alright? Open to any suggestions, trying to stick to the approximate price of the listed components.
DSO: Tektronix TSB1052B

PSU: TENMA 72-2540

Value for money, the Rigol DS1054Z is a far better investment as a scope in my opinion.
The Tek is only 2 channels and has a miniscule 2.5k points for starters.
Edit: typo.

Almost everyone here is going to tell you to buy a Rigol DS1054z.
That power supply is a re-badged Korad. You might be able to find the original Korad version at a lower price.
-
Are you buying Tektroinx just for the name? In all other respects it is way worse that the Rigol DS1054Z.
-
I agree. Buy a DS1000Z, shell out a couple of thousand $ or buy something second hand.
-
The price down here is almost the same between the Tektronix and the Rigol, the Rigol is currently the forums most recommended DSO for good reason, very hard to beat and available from Emona Instruments linked below.
And if you are buying from Element 14 don't forget that you may be eligible for a bonus pictured below, they have indicated to us recently that a review of their pricing structure is being undertaken and are very keen to talk turkey on particular products.

2.5k points is a deal-breaker IMHO. Simply not enough in 2015, eg. a DS1054Z has 5,000 times more memory than that (even without hacking - you can get even more by hacking!)
Being able to record signals and zoom in is a fundamental feature of DSOs.

If you have that sort of budget for a DSO and only want/need 2 channels this may interest you:

Apart from better basic specs it also has 400V rated channel inputs that offer better safety if you are doing any mains or SMPS primary side work.
