Title: Oscilloscope jitter - vid 699
Post by: Davy on February 15, 2015, 09:24:36 pm
Thanks to Dave's excellent videos, especially video 699 Rigol's problem of jitter on some of their oscilloscopes has roused my attention. I was thinking of purchasing a DS2102A, the jitter problem kinda scared me off and now keep looking at other brands as well as analogue scopes.

I wonder if anyone has experience with a DS2102S series or knows if this jitter problem as been rectified.

At the moment I use a HP17144A which is big and heavy, it works fine apart from a small fault on the brightness.... overdoing the brightness the screen is flooded, I do have the service manual, one of these day's I'll round to having a shufty.

The scope would be used mainly for RF work say up to about 50Mhz, the reason I thought of the DS2102A was that it was capable of displaying a 144Mhz signal....  I am aware of the 3db bandwidth points and the accuracy will be way down at this frequency, the only other criteria is the scope must have OSD capeability.

Thanks, Dave
