Title: Oscilloscopes with mouse operation
Post by: Alfons on December 10, 2019, 01:27:16 pm
Which oscilloscopes (or other measuring devices) allow a mouse operation. I know only the Windows devices (Tek, Agilent, Lecroy, all very expensive) and Micsig. I like the mouse operation of my Infiniium very well. So far I have only found the Micsig. Are there alternatives?

The R&S RTM3004 supports (USB) mouse operation. The cheaper RTB2004 likely does too but I have not tried.

More and more of the Linux based devices are supporting mouse and keyboard operation.  The Siglent SDS5000X scope does and I believe the SSA3000X Plus SA does as well.  I think the Rigol MSO8000, MSO5000, DS7000 do to.

Keysight Infiniivision 3000T series does, and I guess 4000/6000 too.. Keyboard too.

So, as it seems, many devices that have touch-dislay seem to be equipped with mouse operation as well? Of course, only the more expensive ... I did not know that Rigol and Siglent had that .

Yeah, a lot of them support it now. Even the relatively ancient Tek TDS5000 series scope that I have on my desk at work supports mouse and keyboard (it runs Windows after all).

Yes, the old Windows Scopes were already fully usable with keyboard and mouse, and that's already around Year 2000. And when you grow up with Windows ...
The manufacturers seem to come only now with the smaller devices with it, since Touch and Mouse are almost identical on the software side. I do not know if they can be used as well with the mouse as the Windows scopes. Many reports that this works well with the Miscig. I never read anything from the others. In any case, for me, mouse operation would be an important option, not so much for the Attenuators or the Timebase, but for all the extra features the devices offer.
