What's going on boys and girls.

Owon B41T+ is a nice multimeter and when you buy it, you better buy it with bluetooth dongle included, otherwise, you might have a problem purchasing a bluetooth dongle. If you are like me self, living in Russian Federation, that thing is not sold on aliexpress. It is sold in some specialized shops, and when it is available, it cost half a kidney. Then, if you are in the U.S., Europe, or Australia you can purchase it but you will find out that it cost about $20. In this small article, I will give you a better option for:

A) half the price
B) you will have a nice sniffer and debugger thingy for that money in addition to connecting your DMM to computer

Basically, you have to purchase from aliexpress CC2540 kit (not 2531 be careful) https://aliexpress.ru/item/1005001973376896.html

Kit comes with CC-Debugger and 2540 bluetooth dongle. Bluetooth dongle is programmed with sniffer firmware. All you have to do is program it with bluetooth firmware, file name is CC2540_USBdongle_HostTestRelease_All.hex and it is located in C:\Texas Instruments\BLE-CC254x-1.5.0.16\Accessories\HexFiles

To get the above firmware you download this file from OWON website https://www.owon.com.hk/load.asp?soft_id=211&url=https://files.owon.com.cn/software/pc/owon_multimeter_pc_software_en.zip
it contains both multimeter software and BLE Stack

Also download https://www.owon.com.hk/load.asp?soft_id=254&url=https://files.owon.com.cn/software/PC/PC_software_for_OWON_Blue_meter(win10%20win11%2064bits%20system).zip which is different multimeter software.

Then you have to get SmartRF Studio 7... Which could be a pain. From official TI website it is a pain. But you can google search and get it. Link is not provided here. But basically, you connect your dongle and cc-debugger, fire up SmartRF Studio 7 then launch Flash programmer from upper right corner and flash your dongle with proper firmware. Then you remove cc-debugger and insert dongle and it will work!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrads, you just spend about half less money and you get useful packet sniffer and debugger and you can connect your BT41T+ to PC and record a nice youtube video! Spending money on CC-debugger is justifiable, spending money on usb dongle just to connect DMM to PC is not justifiable!
