Yes, F1 to F4 bring up the last menu, but this is a kind of useful if you want to alter the last parameters setted.

My first and urgent request would be to fix the stupid horizontal and vertical scaling. Recently I switch HDS120 <-> HDS242s - and with the HDS120, they got it right. Cursor buttons should always change scalings. Let me press another button if I want to move the wave on screen.
And to the person who designed the UI in AWG mode ...  :palm:

But that's damn right:
AFAIK Owon doesn't care what the users like to have. We can be happy, if there is ANY update ...

once you do it right, it works :-)

So that made me suspicious.  With no replacement reg I could find avail locally, and a dead device with really nothing to lose, I decided to try feeding a variable voltage into the "Out" pin with an adjustable bench supply (set with a low max current).  With about 3.3V feed into that pin my CH1 & 2 came back on screen showing around zero volts.  Not sure why 3.3V and not the calculated 4.6V but I guess there are many potential issues with my diagnostic process.  Also I had run the calibration process earier when the inputs were reading wrong so that may have built a big offset in somewhere.  My bench power supply was showing 70mA when feeding into Vout which is more than I expected to see, but I guess it could be the reg trying to pull it down? No smoke came out anywhere so im hopeful it is just that reg causing the issue.  I've ordered a few so I will soon find out I guess.

Hi, I am curious, did the reg replacement fix the channel offset? Apparently having the same problem, was feeding primary winding of SMPS transformer from AWG and observing output via CH1. Few attempts worked well but I reckon the problem occurred when I raised the frequency, or may have shorted something (Note the device was charging via external DC power supply). Thanks

In my case the reg replacement solved the problem. I had not SGM2019-ADJ replaced it with MIC5233 and add 1 kom resistor to R2 in series. Output voltage from the reg became 4.6v. The lines have returned to their place. The oscilloscope works well.

Guys. is there new firmware for HDS2202S? Mine came with 2.1.0 from factory and no firmware update has been released on official owon website.  :-//

I want to make a Bode plot, and found this in a review of the HDS320S on Amazon, but I can't find such a python tool on GitHub.  Anyone know?

"The SCPI documentation is available in the file HDS200_Series_SCPI_Protocol.pdf. An added bonus is the availability of a Bode Plotter Python tool for the
HDS320S on GitHub, expanding its functionality for advanced users."

Owon HDS2102S & Victor 2102S Similar enough to Flash the same Firmware?
« Reply #805 on: April 12, 2025, 11:11:40 am »
Hi,

I'm in the market for a portable oscilloscope and after some research, I decided to go for an Owon HDS2102S.

However, while looking for the Owon, I came across the Victor 2102S, which is nearly identical in terms of specs and functionality but about $40 cheaper than the Owon where I live!

The only downside I see with the Victor is that their official website is a bit of a mess, and I couldn't find any firmware updates on it.

So, I was wondering if anyone knows if you can flash Owon firmwares onto these Victor scopes?

The Owon updates are dedicated to very specific hardware versions. I wouldn't try to install them on a device from another manufacturer.

Another point is, that you'll hardly find ANY update at the owon website.

They look like the same scopemeter, just a rebrand of the Owon.
Don't expect good any support from either manufacturer, they will be equally bad.
So may as well go for the cheaper option.
(I have the Owon)

Interesting! I thought Owon had decent support for some reason!

But I guess at the end of the day they're probably just white-label resellers, and most likely aren't directly involved in the technical side of things.

That would explain why they might be limited in what they can do to help their customers! However it seems like Owon at least publishes firmware upgrades on their website, but Victor doesn't even bother doing that!

It might sound silly, but I really dislike the orange color and the overall design of the Victor too, but I'm too ashamed to pay $40 more for the one that looks slightly nicer 😅

Hello
Can anyone tell me what the differences are between firmware v1.5 and v2.04 for HDS 2102S? I couldn't find any description on the official website
Is it worth installing or worse?

The scopemeter is quite useable and useful, not as a main scope, but as a portable battery powered unit for simple testing it's useful.

I meant the after sales support is bad, in terms of firmware updates being a bit of a mess. Different hardware versions of the same unit may or may not get firmeware fixes, and you don't know what you've got until you bought it.

Owon are the OEM for these units, AFAIK. They make a lot of low to mid range scopes.
