Voltcraft Component tester for scope

Hi,

Description
The I-V Curve is a component test attachment probe for 2-channel oscilloscopes with X-Y operation function. In X-Y operation, bipolar components such as semiconductors, capacitors, resistors, RLC networks and the combination of RLC with semiconductors can be checked for their state. Even the testing of built-in components is possible. The characteristic curve is displayed on the screen of the oscilloscope in a two-dimensional I-V diagram. Here, the relationship between electric current (I) and electric voltage (U) of a two-pole electrical component is shown.

I find the price attractive for a ready to use x-y component tester - What are your opinions about ?
Or experiences with it ?

Martin

I agree, this is too simple to cost so much.  Just read about the octopus for instance.  You can build your own easily.  In fact you can built it whenever you want it and take it apart when done.

Just google "octopus curve tracer"

Example Video:

I got an older small 10MHz scope from hameg with ther integrated component tester funktion for less.

search for some used analog 20MHz or so scope, on any craiglist for less than $50 most of the time
they almost all contain such a component tester
