Hello all, newbie here.
Second post, after the introduce yourself..lol
I have tried very hard to find anything related to this SDS7072, but could not find any post or reviews about it.
Should I assume it is exactly the same as the 100 MHz's, except for been 70 MHz and the rise time is 5 ns?
It will be my first scope.... Bought it from Saelig.... It s back order till end of the month, so trying to know about this scope ahead of time....
I've downloaded SDS' manual, but that is about it....
Pls let me know what I should be looking (for defects) when I receive it, and tips on HOW NOT to blown it away!
Much appreciated in advance for your valued tips, suggestions, teachings and most of all your warn welcome.... :-)
Cheers from the cold northern winter of Calgary, Alberta

First a small clarification is needed: It it SDS7072 or SDS7072E? The SDS-E series is cheaper version with less options which, from what I've read, is supposed to replace the older PDS series. If it's regular SDS7072 without E, I'd expect it to be more or less same as the SDS7102, but with a bit less bandwidth.
In any case, someone needs to be the first and to post a review.

Not sure AndrejaKo, I think the model is SDS7072 without the E from Saelig.com from USA @ 299! But with the shipping fee if $80 for me it did not result big saving! Hopefully, I can receive it soon....

Well I wish you all the best with your new scope and please do let us know how it turns out. Some versions of SDS7102 had bandwidth of ~150 MHz, if I remember correctly. I wonder how well the SDS7072 will perform in that area.

Will do! Thanks.

Searched extensively on the web, and came empty handed! I guess it is New?..... Really no review what so ever of this 70 MHz scope!

Certainly not new. Its just the OWON SDS7102 but then with less bandwidth. Pretty sure any review on the later can be mapped onto the SDS7072.
As written above, the E series is apparently newer, but as AndrejaKo hints above, maybe newer does always mean better.
A V option in the model name means it has VGA out.
I suspect the SDS7xxx are all the same, but the SDS6062 and SDS5032 seem structurally different (less) on more then just the bandwidth.
Personally I thought about but did not choose the SDS7072 and went for the Rigol DS1074Z (was also considering the Owon TDS7104) But those are about €250 more, so not a completely fair comparison.
