R&S® RTA4004

Hello,

in the data sheet of the RTA4004 is
written:"Arbitrary sample rate max. 10 Msample/s".
I guess this is not correct.

Too in the data sheet is:
Analog bandwidth (–3 dB) at 50 Ω input impedance
R&S®RTA4004 with -B2410 option > 1 GHz

at 1 MΩ input impedance
R&S®RTA4004 with -B2410 option > 500 MHz (meas.)

Why is the bandwidth (–3 dB) at 50 Ω input impedance not measured?

PS: I believe that measured values for RTA4004 are important because in the Calibration Certificate is written:"All measured values are within the data sheet specifications"

it seems a sample in memory is 16 bit. :)

how can I load a file for the arbitrary generator.


WGENerator:ARBitrary:NAME "D:/GEN_ARNC.CSV"
or
WGENerator:ARBitrary:NAME "D:GEN_ARNC.CSV"
or
WGENerator:ARBitrary:NAME "D:\GEN_ARNC.CSV"
or
WGENerator:ARBitrary:NAME "D:\\GEN_ARNC.CSV"

got always  0,"No error".

But then
WGENerator:ARBitrary:OPEN
I always got -200,"Execution error"

GEN_ARNC.CSV is the file I take from Computer\Rohde&Schwarz RTA4004\Internal Storage\REFERENCE

Hello,

I try to measure the BW of the RTA4004 with 1GHz option.

As I have no signal generator a credible measure is not possible :(

I use the tracking generator from RIGOL DSA815TG and the trigger out from RIGOL DS2072
The measure will compared with Agilent DSO6104L

With the tracking generator from RIGOL DSA815TG I generate a few frequency and measure their amplitudes with the both scopes.

I always use the same BNC cable. The input of the scopes are 50 Ohm
The result is in BW_040719.txt and BW_040719.jpg to see.

The problem of this measure lie in the fact that the amplitude of the TG is not constant with frequency.
If I trust the DSA815TG the amplitude at 1000MHz is about -1 dB lower than the amplitude at 100MHz. So the -3dB point in the data is at -4dB.

I do a new measure for RTA4004 with FFT and correction from the measured amplitude from DSA815TG. But now I have the Level Measurement Uncertainty <0.8 dB from DSA815TG.
If the measured amplitude from DSA815TG is correct I got 1150MHz BW for C4 from RTA4004 (RTA4004_BW.jpg).

Eventually I measured the rise time and fall time from trigger out of the RIGOL DS2072 with RTA4004 (ft_9.png) and DSO6104L (ft_11.png).

What do you think about?

Hello,

meanwhile I got the protocol for my Calibration Certificate.
The bandwidth of my RTA4004 is a little over 1 GHz.  (Better than -2.6dB at 1 GHz)
