OWON HDS3102M-N Problem

Hello !

the last days i used my Owon HDS3102M-N Oscilloscope for troubleshooting, no problem and both channels are worked well. Next day i switched the HDS on and the device has now a big problem:

Channel 1 shows a signal with +/- dev on the screen without probes connected.
The signal can´t be moved with the position adjustment.

Channel 2 sticks on the upper border of the display.

Both channels are not react to a testsignal on the bnc jackets.

I think it must be a software issue cause the device works well one day before.
I tried "factory recall" and "calibrate" but with no success.
I also tried to flash the "patch" again that owon had sent me a year ago. I don`t know if this patch performs a complete firmware replacement. By the way, for that patch you have to use a rs232 cable at the "com" AND a usb-cable at the "usb" port of the deive.

Also a problem is to reach the owon service. I wrote a short mail but no answer yet.

Perhaps anybody has a idea to manage this error.

Hi folks,

perhaps for someone it`s useful. I played around with the OWON patch for the HDS3102M-N. In the folder of the patch there are some .bin files:
HDS3102M_N_FP_V2.01.bin
HDS3102M_N_OS_V1.1.6.bin
font10.13.bin

I thought that the patch (launcher.exe) would flash these files into the HDS3102M-N. So i played around and moved one file after another. And the patch process still works. Don`t know WHAT the patch really flashes?

I also made a test with a rs232 terminal.
I pluged in the RS232 cable in the COM-port of the HDS3102M-N AND the USB to the USB port. If you switch the unit on, you can read this in the terminal with 115200 8N1:

So the question for me is what does that OWON Firmware Patch flash?
Are these bin files flashable images with the firmware for the device and how they can be flashed in the HDS3102M-N.?
