I got a pixel defect. Anyone else had this? Is there a possibility, that there could develop more of these defects? |
| radiohomebrewer2000:
Can you describe this pixel defect better? Also, can you provide a screen shot, photo, or video of this pixel defect? You can upload a video to YouTube. And then provide the link in your reply. |
| ebastler:
I have not noticed anything -- but as radiohomebrewer said, a description and photo of the defect you found would be helpful so we know what to look out for. Is it an always-on or always-off pixel? Single pixel, or a group of adjacent ones? In the early days of TFT displays, specs on the number of permissible pixel defects were common. But I have not seen such specs for quite a while. Is that because I stopped paying attention, or because display manufacturing is generally so well-controlled now that defects are no longer expected? |

I just noticed, that it is a bunch of pixels :( Its all colors |
| ebastler:
Almost looks like it is not a "digital" defect, where some pixels do not operate -- but some "analog" piece of debris which obscures the pixels. Some pixels seem to be half-visible. But it's not on the outside of the screen, where it could be cleaned off, I assume? |
