Pomona Test lead wire

New member as of today.  I am working on a few HP 410 series VTVM's, of course most need new test leads. Any reason not to use the Pomona 5kV, 6734?  (with black and red, 50' it does add up cost). It appears to be about the same dia.,  .140 to .144.  I noticed the 410C leads are thinner, around .125, anybody know if the .144 wire will fit through the rubber boots on the front panel?   If I can, 2nd question, it looks like the black jacket on the shielded leads may be able to be saved, what is the best solvent or chemical to use to soften and save the existing cables. Thanks.

The lower volt/ ohms leads are probably different than the HV leads. HV leads have smaller dia Wire and higher resistance  that will make a difference in the readings, especially at low volts and low ohms.
