DSA-1030 hacks or options?

I bought a DSA-1030-TG several years ago that included the pre-amp option.  This has been one of my favorite spectrum analyzers I've used.  I like it so much, that I bought another DSA-1030 (no TG or PA options in this one).

I reached out to Rigol - they tell me the Pre Amp option is no longer available (funny - it's just a software key... why discontinue that?).

Anyone have luck convincing this spec an to enable some additional features?  Or converting a DSA-1030 to a DSA-1030A?  There are few threads on here about the DSA-1030 and to my knowledge, no tips on hacking these.
