KPS305D 30V/5A power supply
« on: May 15, 2016, 02:02:20 pm »
Recently, I stumbled upon 'KPS305D' bench power supply on evil-bay. It goes for about 50USD and is rated at 30V/5A.
There are various models from 303D to 605D. The most expensive one is rated 60V/5A and priced around 80$.

It doesn't have an output 'on/off' switch, but I guess that could be modded easily.

Has anyone used one of these? Does it have problems with overshoot/undershoot?

Thanks, it does seem like a next iteration of the PSU mentioned in the thread you linked. I do like that they've put separate fine/coarse adjustment pots.

However, from what I've seen they removed the heatsinks on the 'KDS' unit and mounted the mosfets on a single aluminium plate. I don't think it's going to handle heat dissipation that well..
