Problems Updatging Agilent E4406A Firmware
« on: May 07, 2019, 08:00:57 pm »
Hello

I have been trying to update the HP/Agilent E4406A VSA firmware using the updater program downloaded from Keysight on an XP computer.  After numerous tries, this is not working.  I can't update the rather old firmware.

Has anyone gone through this who could help?

Richard

What error do you get and at what stage?  How is the VSA connected to the PC?

Are you using a cross over cable?  If you are using a regular Ethernet cable, you need to use a HUB

Also try using the IP address 128.1.1.1 on the PC and 128.1.1.2 on the VSA
Netmask 255.255.0.0

Thanks.  Yes, I am using a cross over cable.

I will try those IP settings but it may be a couple of days before I can get to this.

I tried those IP settings, but the updater still won't proceed.
