Problems with USB oscilloscope trigger

(1/2) > >>

Captain autism:
Hello everyone.
Recently I acquired a USB oscilloscope (Hantek 6022BE) and it has been giving me quite a few problems, namely with the trigger. I have attached a video in which the problem can be seen:

This is not an ongoing situation, meaning, sometimes it works just fine and some other times it does this. The problem is that I don't know what causes it to malfunction: is the hardware broken? is it a problem with the software? etc.

The only thing that I can think of to solve this issue is to install an alternative firmware. Has anyone had any success with this approach?

Thanks in advance.

Psi:
Does it happening have any correlation to when the laptop is running on battery and mains isolated vs not?
Laptop can be a bit weird when it comes to earthing, which may mess up triggering.

Also, if your laptop is charging vs not it may have an effect as well.

It doesn't make any difference sadly

Where is your horizontal trigger point?

I don't think this oscilloscope has a horizontal trigger point. I can however drag the signal wherever I want to.
