Title: Pushed the boat right out now with a Keighley 2100!!
Post by: Chris56000 on October 26, 2017, 01:58:38 am
Hi!

I've decided to push the boat right out now  –  I've been looking with covetous eyes on the 29–page Keithley 2001 saga, but there's none going anywhere spares or repairs just at the moment, but setting my sights a digit less (6.5 as opposed to 7.5!!) i saw a Keighley 2100 at the unbelievable price of £140 b.i.n. from Burgess Hill and had to pounce!!!!

Sold "parts only" due to failed DC/AC calibration  – have I bitten off more than I can chew here or will the good chappies here be able to help me get it to pass self–tests, until I can afford RS Cal next month?!

PS!!

There's good SMD soldering/desoldering tackle and a PCB cleaning tank/hot cupboard at work I can use out of hours!

PPS!

Do these have some sort of BGA device that would make drawing–out very difficult?!

For more info on that meter you can also search for an Array M3500A.

Hi!

From the pic on fleabay it looks like someone's whipped the carrying handle - I believe these meters along with many others are made with detachable handles for inserting in lab racks, etc., but if it does turn out to be missing when it arrives, would I be able to get a replacement carrying handle from Keithley, and can anyone suggest a part no - will a handle from their other meters fit?
