Question regarding what's "hackable" on a Siglent Oscilloscope
« on: October 23, 2023, 10:44:27 pm »
I'm looking at the Siglent SDS2204X Plus Oscilloscope.  It has a number of license upgrades.
  • SDS-2000XP-FG: 50 MHz USB Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator (Software) ($229.00)
  • SDS-2000XP-16LA: MSO function software for SDS2000X Plus oscilloscope, 16-channel, does not include hardware ($175.00)
  • SDS-2000XP-Flexray: FlexRay serial triggering and decoding, software license ($275.00)
  • SDS-2000XP-MIL1553B: MIL-STD-1553B serial triggering and decoding, software license ($275.00)
  • SDS-2000XP-CAN-FD: CAN FD serial triggering and decoding, software license ($275.00)
  • SDS-2000XP-I2S: I2S serial triggering and decoding, software license ($275.00)
  • SDS-2000XP-SENT: SENT trigger and serial decoding activation license ($275.00)
  • SDS-2000XP-MANCH: Manchester trigger and serial decoding software activation license ($275.00)
  • SDS2000XP-4BW03: SDS2204X Plus 200 MHz 4 Channel Scope upgrade to 350 MHz ($1,199.00)

I don't care about all of them, but I'd love to be able to enable the Waveform Generator, MSO function, and the 350MHz upgrade.  Can all these options be enabled via a hack?
Note: I am aware that the MSO function by itself is useless and I'd have to purchase SPL2016: Logic Probe, 16-channel ($379.00)

Welcome to the forum.

As luck would have it there's a promo running on these DSO's offering a great deal on an option bundle package at fantastic pricing but sadly not for the US.  :(
