Questions about the new (upcoming) Hameg scope HMO series
(1/1)
Franki:
Does anyone know what the output data formats of the upcoming Hameg HMO scopes will be?
csv, bmp, png, plain ascii, raw binary values of the PCMs or something different?

From what I can imply out of the data sheet, it can output data over USB and optionally over RS-232, Ethernet and IEEE488 GPIB, but there is not a single word on the data format being used.

Also, I would suggest any technical questions on the new Hameg HMO scopes to go in this thread.
Wim_L:
Given that they look fairly similar to the already existing models of the HMO series, it seems logical to expect the same formats will be available as can be found in the manual for those (CSV, BMP, GIF, PNG,...) and communication with a computer will be using SCPI.

Why not simply mail Hameg and ask, though?

I guess, but who knows for sure?

been doing that already, takes some time to answer though. Not everyone is as fast as the EEVblog forum :)
Franki:
OK, I just got a reply from the Hameg support line.

The new Hameg scopes are going to support CSV, binary data and HRT as raw data file formats and PNG, GIF and BMP as screenshot file format.

It is also going to support a hi-res averaging mode used to increase the dynamic range of non-periodic signals.
