Recomendations Ethernet Enabled DC Power Supply

Hello All,

I have been looking around for a DC power supply that has an Ethernet interface. The power supply would need to fit the following requirements.

• Linear or DC/DC (I don't think there are any Linear Supplies in this class)
• 0-60V
• 600 Watt or greater
• No user interface required(No LCD or dials)
• +-10mV, +- 10mA Accuracy
• Cost: ~$1000

I have taken a look at the Rigol and Siglent Bench power supplies but they don't hit the 600 Watt power requirements. The SophPower DSP6010 looks promising but it doesn't have a LAN interface.

It is for a battery test station so the more power I have the faster I can charge the batteries. I would like the 0-60V because the system will be used to charge a number of different sized battery packs.

What do you want to 'do' over the ethernet interface?

Aim-TTi QPX1200SP meets your spec except on price at ~ $1600.  But I suspect it will be one of the better matches for your requirements.

I have an AIM-TTi MX100TP and it performs quite well and LXI does everything one could want.  The MX line does not go up to 600W however.

You could also do something like run 4x Siglent SPD1168X in series to get the voltage/power you want.  That gets you pretty close to your price point and meets all of your other specs.

What do you want to 'do' over the ethernet interface?

Have the SCPI commands avalible. Essentially the usual suspects, set current, set voltage, enable/disable.

Sure these things can be done over USB or RS232 but for the scalability of the system Ethernet would be great.

I was thinking about running multiple Siglents. I use them in another project and already have the SCPI exposed nicley.

The Aim-TTi QPX1200SP looks excellent. Despite the higher price I think this may be the part to run with. Thanks for the recommendation.

How about getting a random GPIB or RS232 or USB controlled power supply, then hack it with an added RPi?

I've done that with the Korad supplies and it has worked well. I'm just looking for a more complete solution for power levels above 300 watts. I don't mind working with a USB interface but I really like to have LAN interfaces slapped on everything.

It's out of your price range (but not as far as you may think, especially if you have a good rep) but the Keysight N6700 series might be an option, in your case not that series itself, but the larger fixed supplies that use the same control side.

That said, their best match is the slightly simpler N5700 series, specifically the N5747A.

I like the Keysight rack modular supplies, they are very robust, however SCPI response time to output enable commands is pretty abysmal in my experience.
