Reccomendation for cheap multimeter
« on: October 11, 2022, 11:35:00 am »
I need new multimeter for my hobby work.
I had a Uni-T UT61E for 5+ years and broke it - tried to measure it's own battery voltage. Battery was new, bought that day. I am an idiot.  :palm:

Anyway, now I need to buy new one.
I am usually using buzzer, voltage, resistance & capacitance measurement.
Budget: 50-100 $/€.

What it needs to have:
- auto-range
- capacitance measurement on its own "notch" on the selector wheel (some Uni-T have it combined with diode/buzzer/capacitance)
- NO auto-power off (I fucking hate that feature)

What would be useful:
- inductance measuring (not sure if applicable for this type of device)
- backlight
- capacitance measurement for pico Farads (not sure if applicable for this type of device)
- LED blinking with buzzer - useful with headphones. But this can be modded later

I do not need "true RMS" (or anything AC/live house wires related), non conductive finding of wires in the wall etc. I will not measure over 100V DC or 10A of current.
Buying another UT61E is an options but I rather have something better if possible.
