Reccomendation for low end bench multimeter
« on: August 16, 2021, 12:23:33 pm »
I am looking for a lower end bench multimeter, because of practicality. I set my eyes on the east tester et3240 22000 (https://www.banggood.com/ET3240-Original-22000-counts-Benchtop-Digital-Multimeter-with-Large-Clear-Screen-High-Precision-Desktop-Multimeter-p-1532933.html?cur_warehouse=ES&rmmds=detail-top-buytogether-auto) counts dmm for around 140 euros, but i also looked on farnell and found this 55000 count multicorp mp730424 (https://si.farnell.com/multicomp-pro/mp730424-eu-uk/digital-multimeter-bench-3-7-lcd/dp/3358484#anchorTechnicalDOCS) dmm for around 190 euros, but i don't know about it's quality and bugs, i saw a few reviews and videos on the internet about inacuratte measurements and bugs and it also seams it is a rebrand of the owon xdm2041 dmm, which one do you recommend me more?

owon dmm discussion and fault:

Unfortunately i didn't find any good deals on this one from europe, i'm kinda leaning to the east tester beacuse i couldn't find any bad reviews or known faults about it, unlike the multicomp

Did you consider the Vici VC8145? It is not sexy but it does work well.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

I don't know anything about the "OWON XDM1041" apart from skipping through some yt-videos. The build quality seems to be not bad, but it is very slow in this price range.

However, I know this dealer from germany: "Messgeräte Chemnitz". They are fast and trustful and by the way the cheapest Fluke dealer I know in germany...  :)

Nevertheless, here is the OWON XDM1041 for 139 Euro (within germany incl. shipping):

https://www.messgeraete-chemnitz.de/messtechnik/multimeter/tischmultimeter/1802/owon-xdm1041-tisch-multimeter-trms-mit-lcd-display-und-speicher

Maybe it is not a bad idea to write them an E-Mail, to ask for shipping & Co to NL.

PS: You will probably have a handheld DMM already, because otherwise I would buy a Brymen from Welectron with USB-IR-Cable and look for a used benchtop DMM on ebay/ebay Kleinanzeigen time and again till you have success - so did I. At the moment there is nothing, but X-MAS will come, as buying such cheap equipment is not a good idea in the long run and especially not for your satisfaction...

Cheers.

Have you looked at an AimTTi 1604?   40,000 count.  Does not have 4-wire ohms.    It is  discontinued but there are still some new ones around.  Maybe out of your price range??

High quality inside. Made in England.

Outdated and not very accurate (especially for AC measurements). It doesn't have dual display and capacitance measurement. The latter is pretty handy to check the value of a capacitor.

The Vici 8145 looks like the best low cost bench meter, to me anyway. I've been thinking of buying one, but my ancient RSR branded M9803R still does about all I need. If you could find an M9803R used for cheap it by be worth considering.

The UT 8802/UT 8803E are a low end bench multimeter available in europe (reichelt.de/elv.de). I sold my UT 8803 because it was too low end.
The UT devices are not very accurate but cheap and a good entry level choice. I'm now happy with Keithley DMM6550 that fit's my needs for accuracy.
