Back on the original topic of recovery DVDs, there used to be a file on the Agilent/Keysight website in the ISO image directory named "Decoder Ring (Which one do you need).txt" with a helpful list of exactly what DVD you need for the various logic analyzer mainframes.  Too bad they keep purging the FTP site of useful files. I wonder why?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but has anybody upgraded their analyzer with the Win7 kit?
I'm looking for an Adlink M-880 motherboard to repair a DSO8104A. I'll pay top dollar for it.
I can also use the add on video card that was used for the Intel D915GUX to drive the LVDS display (I have a spare D915GUX)

Thanks.

I also have a 16901A in which I've had to put a new drive, so I need the 16901-14102.iso image also, if anyone has it.

As Glen Slick pointed out to me in private email, the copy in the giant ftp.keysight.com tarball at Internet Archive is actually truncated, and gets truncated even more if you try to dowload it as a single file. But even if you download the entire 200GB and extract just the 16901-14102.iso file, because IA's copy is truncated, it fails. The truncation omits part of the Ghost recovery image, and also another executable used early in the recovery disc boot process.

If anyone has an actual 16901-14102 DVD, or a GOOD iso image (length would be 2,148,980,736 bytes, bad IA copy is only 1,702,229,488 bytes), please let us know!

Thanks!

I wonder if you can upgrade your 16801A with the M880 motherboard to Windows 7 yourself without an official 16800AU upgrade and if there would be any benefit of doing so?

You maybe could, but if I recall correctly the M880 didn't like Windows 7, so we used the M890 for the Windows 7 upgrade.

7 years later, I finally got around to figuring out how to get the 64-bit version of Windows Embedded Standard 7 installed on an ADLINK M-880 motherboard version of a 16902B.

i downloaded 16800-14103 from this link,

burnt the iso image on a pen drive using Rufus, but the system is doesn't boot

also on using the recovery options, it asks for password to log into C:Windows

but i do not remember putting a password in place

The system doesn't boot and keeps on restarting.  i suspect HDD has bad sectors.  can anyone help

my system is 16821 based on M880 nitro board

if i understand correctly, after installing this image, logic analyser application and other associated agilent application still needs to be installed separately.  any information where to get these from

Click on the Download button here:

https://www.keysight.com/us/en/lib/software-detail/instrument-firmware-software/logic-and-protocol-analyzer-software-32bit-2222812.html

There are two choices:
Logic and Protocol Analyzer Software (Version 05.90.1110)
Logic and Protocol Analyzer CD ISO Image (Version 05.90.1104)

The full CD ISO image might be the easier choice. There might be some necessary Microsoft .NET Framework components that are not included with the standalone Version 05.90.1110 download.

thanks, will try.

however something un explained happened, the logic analyser started booting with original hdd with which it wasn't booting earlier

everything seems to be working okay except i get fan failure and overheating alert when i connect the front panel.

if i leave it disconnected it goes on..  all fans (4+1)  are working okay.  so better l leave front panel disconnected

my unit of Agilent 16821A has now a new issue.

it gives a message stating one or more fans have filed, and sometimes later a message of frame getting overheated and unit is being shut down to prevent demage.

however i could see all 5 chassis fans running ok, and the ambient temperature being normal.

on further investigation i found an IC max6643 on MIB board which is responsible for temperature and fan speed control

i could also see that for 4 fans on the lower bay, the rpm is being sensed by CPLD.  however for the fifth chasis fan loated near mains smps, the rpm pin has no connection to cpld.  It could be that internal trace is broken.

can any one help there to find that to which pin (of cpld) the chassis fan tachometer out is connected to

i further noticed that max 6643 is disabled from checking fan RPM.   its only configured for fan speed control and possibly tempraature measurment
