Hi, I have fluke 175 handheld digital multimeter and I am interested to figure out the mechanism how the resistance is actually measured using fluke digital multimeter. There should be small amount of current flowing, the question is how much ? I guess there is shunt resistance which will be in parallel to the measurement device for example, if the measurement device is a resistor. |

Basically the meter sends out a constant current and measures the voltage accross the resistor. The current changes with different ranges. I don't know how much current for each range but it's something that can be measured and find out. |

Current is usually about 0.5mA but see the manual for exact specifications of this meter. (or measure it using another meter) |
