| Reverse Engineering a HP HIL Interface Keyboard with a Rigol DS1054Z |

Hi Thank you for reading .... I want to look at the HP-HIL interface / Protocol with the idea of building a keyboard with a few less keys (Its to make operation a little less cluttered) In short I need to understand and replicate a few keys from an existing HP HIL Keyboard The Serial options on the DS1000Z seem a little too specific linked to SPI / RS232 etc So was wondering if I could simply use the waveform record .... Hit the keys on the keyboard that are of interest and play back later ? Or is there another way ... My Rigol is currently locked away a good way from here ...... So looking for ideas or if yes / no befor I go digging it out :-) Thank you again Andy |

Hasn't this already been done? https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/wiki/HP-HIL |

You can check https://groups.io/g/VintHPcom/topic/hp_hil_and_usb/68643874. It is the thread to http://www.dalton.ax/hpkbd/hil/. I have not build one with USB only with PS/2. For proper PS/2 mouse functionality you need to add pull up resistor - some mice can work without it. I'm not sure if the schematic on dalton site is already updated. HP-HIL documentation |
