Tektronix TBS lcd flicker
« on: June 13, 2023, 02:49:42 pm »
Hi,
I own a Tektronix TBS which mostly works, but has an annoying problem. When I start de unit the display filckers for a while, about 5 minutes.
The flicker is not exactly a flicker but some vertical strips going up and down.
After 5 minutes or so it stops flickering.

Has anyone experienced this problem ?

L.

Did you fix this issue already?

Some Agilent and Tektronix machines like to play hard-to-get with this issue, but don't worry—here's how you can put them back in line:

Start by unscrewing the five sneaky screws at the back. Two are hiding behind the handle, and two are undercover beneath the black circular rubber pads. (Yes, it's a game of hide-and-seek.)
Grab your needle-nose pliers, give them a soft cushion with a cloth, and gently evict the power switch from its spot.
With the power switch out of the way, the casing will surrender and open up.
Inside, you'll find two ribbon cables. Treat them to a spa day with some contact cleaner/lubricant, then slide them back into place like a pro.
Problem solved, and your machine will be back to behaving itself in no time!
