looking for a good text on VNAs
« on: May 27, 2019, 06:04:22 pm »
I've acquired a long-desired piece of gear, the SDR-kits WVNA 3, along with a Rosenberger SMA cal kit.  My reach exceeds my grasp...  I am flummoxed by it.  I really need to do some basic reading/study/experimenting to learn how to use this gear properly.

So.... anyone here know a good basic book or two I might buy (or borrow using inter-library loan) to guide me?  I am old-fashioned and like POT (plain old textbooks). Plus I don't have the attention span (or patience) to wade through a zillion youtube videos or websites to find a gem or two.

Thanks in advance!

I'd start with googling "keysight vna basics" and taking a look at the first few PDF links, it's a good starting point.  There's a fair bit of intro information around online (and I think if you look through the RF forum you'll find some relevant recommendations) between information from vendors and information from hobbyists/hams.
