Just wondering, is there any reason to get the LAN upgrade when the instek GPP 4323 can be controlled over USB?

If the power supply is within reach of your USB cable and you don't have any requirement to control devices over LAN, then no need.

The Matrix MPS-6005+ Variable Linear Regulated Adjustable DC Power Supply 60V 5A Low Ripple and Noise for Laboratory seems like a decent bench supply. It uses tap switching to minimize power dissipation. ~ $129.99 USD
