I think this scope is not designed to update firmware via wifi.

I'm trying network cable now with same result. Update is found and something is downloading with a progressbar, goes pretty quick to 100% and then it says "Upgrading, please wait...." for ages and I have to restart the scope. Maybe its some "hack" I did to extent bandwith and mem depth that did something that messed up things?
Edit: And now I tried with a USB stick with the GEL file on it. Scope just says no firmware found. I've messed up something for sure.
Edit2: Ok, now I got the update to work, via Storage menu. I'm now on 01.04 but I lost my hacks and are now back on 70 Mhz and 25 M mem depth. Bummer! So, can I use the rigol.vendor.bin to make it a 924 with this new 01.04 firmware or do I need to go back to 01.02 to do that?

Thanks! For some reason I expected it to be able to update over the air!

It will if your network is working.

Yes, i seems like they decided they weren't going to sell upgrades and took that code out.

There's a new DHO824 option, I'd use that one instead of 924.
No, you don't need to go back.
Malmen:
Thank you! I followed AndyBigs excellent guide and used his version of rigol_vendor_bin_824 to make it a DHO824 and it worked great! Doing a SelfCal now.
norbert.kiszka:
There are somewhere pregenerated files vendor.bin for all dho models. Just saying.
