4. Resolve Menu labels are too short after AUTO.
5. Resolve MATH scale does not follow after setting V/A probe ratio.
6. Resolve Waveform disappears.
7. Resolve Measurements are calculated only once at a 50ms time base.
8. Resolve System crash when modifying all measurement sources under extended time base in measurement settings.
9. Resolve Screen grid settings are ineffective.
10. Resolve Incomplete waveform display when adjusting the time base to enter scan mode in XY mode.
11. Resolve System crash after enabling all measurements and performing default in scan mode.
12. Resolve Abnormal horizontal offset when switching from roll to scan at 200ms horizontal time base.
13. Resolve Waveform does not refresh when switching from channel one to channel two in SCAN mode.
14. Resolve Abnormal color of options in "Source" and "Modify All Measurement Sources" in measurement settings.
15. Resolve Channels do not automatically turn on when modifying all measurement sources.
16. Resolve Waveform does not refresh with multiple stop and run actions in SCAN mode.
17. Improve self-calibration pass rate.
18. In engineering mode, add build time, WPU, and SPU.A to *IDN? response.

v00.01.04.00.00  2024/09/13

1. MATH vertical gear is not an integer, and the offset is not 0
2.the FFT unit in MATH is dbm/dbV, but only dbV is displayed
3. Add new model DHO824
4. Added storage depth option 50M for new model DHO824
5.  When the vertical gear is selected as A, the probe ratio needs to be displayed as V/A
6. Solve the problem that XY can't be opened
7. Fixed the problem that oscilloscopes other than 824 models could not display waveforms

I don't understand why we need three separate topics for each software.

BUG #1
- With the CH1 probe connected to the calibration output, sometimes when pressing the AUTO button the time base is miscalculated.

The DHO804 can be upgraded to DHO824 giving 200MHz maximum bandwidth and 50M memory depth.
For that, it is just necessary to use a binary editor to change one of the model strings to DHO824 in the tool rigol_vendor_bin to enable the DHO824 as a selectable model using the command:
Code: [Select]
rigol_vendor_bin -M DHO824

Not working at ch. 3&4 is not as that big problem as plot different from real results - if You switch view to a table instead plot, it differs a lot. Even if I short both channels, then I don't have 0 dB from left to right.

Some time ago I was thinking to make my own script to make bode plots with much more settings - like fast, precise or something between.

When updating from 1.02 to 1.04, do it keep the installed licenses options for bandwidth and memory depth ? (I'm not talking about a modified vendor.bin)

Yes.

I can accept using only channels 1 and 2 for a Bode plot, but the results with the supplied firmware are a function that appears to work, but creates a very inaccurate graph of magnitude and phase for even a simple circuit.
(See my previous posts for detailed results).

Related to BUG #1, I did the calibration before the upgrade to DHO824, if I put signals on channels 1 and 2, the AUTO button works as expected.

If I am a new user I will look for information related to the firmware I am currently using. It is expected that eventually all DHOs will come with the new firmware.

Bode is just as bad, no change.

If Rigol open their API, due to the use of Android as base OS, could be possible to implement third party applications, currently should be possible to so something using a PC and acquiring controlling the oscilloscope and a wave generator via SCPI commands.

In addition, I have already demonstrated that the oscilloscope is able to control other devices by using USB UART, I have been able to control a RD6006 power supply via serial commands using only the oscilloscope as controlling device.

Bug #2
- After the AUTO operation, Noise Reject (NR) is enabled by default but it is not reflected in the trigger configuration.

In that condition it is not possible to triggering in small signals, it can be verified with the internal calibration signal and setting the vertical scale to 5V. Entering the trigger settings and adjusting the NR ON/OFF will solve the issue.

After I changed model from 804 to 924 (regular, no S) auto calibration fails!
What should I do?
ADC Gain, 1MOhm, Ch1-4 options are checked (by default).

Try changing the model back to 804, run self cal, then 924 and self cal again.
At each step, make sure the scope shows the correct model number for the vendor.bin file you copied over.  If not, copy the vendor.bin file a second time, restart, make sure model is as expected.

Reset settings to defaults. Run again.

Also don't run self-calibration on cold. Give "him" at least 30 minutes to warm up.

Updated my DHO802 from 00.01.02 to version 00.01.04.02 apparently without problems. Then the self-calibration was done correctly. Greetings

Was the FFT fully fixed? Soes 104 seem OEM stable, yet still hackable for upgrading?

Rigol download links are wonly again.

v00.01.03.00.06.zip pulls down the 1040002 version, and the release notes make no mention of the 1030006

in the firmware 00.01.04.00.02, the embedded help user guides (DHO800_EmbeddedHelp_EN.pdf, DHO900_EmbeddedHelp_EN.pdf) are not up to date.
e.g.:
  • missing new power sleep mode,
  • missing new feature SMB,
  • missing new model DHO824,
  • missing new storage depth 5M for DHO800,
  • ...

I did not see any indication that Rigol did any work on the FFT for this firmware release.
What mrisco referred to above was his own, add-on FFT application I believe.

what does Rigol say about the extended version you sell?
i mean i am sure it contains parts of Rigols own software/resources, that are under copyright of Rigol.
hacking things for free is one thing, but selling parts that is under copyright without permission, would be way too risky for me.

BTW: i love your compact UI.
