Rigol DHO814 Ultraacquire not ultra...

<< < (3/3)

Randy222:
Rigol 1-up'd the other brand, so a longer feature list.

Being useless is not a metric they measure.

I can affirm that. I tried to use the record feature, which in theory is actually epic. But its as useless as the ultra-useless feature, because waveforms are not visible, or do not scale when scaling. The UI for this is embarrasing. You have buttons that you can use, but these are disabled.

I did not read the manual for the record, but i dont think i will find something that would really help judging from the experience of others here...

We are quite a bunch, aren't we.. :-DD

FastAcq is useless gimmick. Nobody ever demonstrated what it is used for, and in that mode nothing can be used: no measurements, no decode, nothing.. It only puts some wiggles on screen. In several "special" display modes that are pretty much not useful at all.
It is just a gimmick to claim high Wfms/s and to have "another feature".

High update rates are said to be useful for detecting rare signal anomalies, among other things.
I had tried this with different random pulses in the signal over time.
I always detected them reliably with the corresponding trigger mode in the normal acquisition mode of the scope.
But never in this UA mode, on the contrary, all you could see was a bunch of lines

When using UA with 200ms signals, it often just copies them multiple times. Who can tell me, that it does not do this with faster/more frequent signals, and discarding those, that i am looking for actually?

BTW: I found out, that the actually use alot of Opensource software. I got the feeling, that they just had some students puzzling these together.
