HP5335A A and B trigger acting odd
« on: February 28, 2019, 11:52:54 pm »
I have four HP5335a and my concern centers around triggering.

case 1
Say I have 10MHz on input A.  Trigger in AUTO mode, LED flashes on both A and B
Is this the way supposed to be?  There is nothing connected on B port.

case 2
Say I have 10MHz on input A.  Trigger in AUTO mode LED flashes ONLY on port A.  B is either not lit or steadily lit.  It never flashes.

Oddly enough I have case 1 and case 2, two each.

By the way, if I connect signal to port B with nothing on A, 3 out of 4 has A and B flashing.  Last one is either blank or steady depending on setting of trigger.

It sort of looks like cross talk.  If I enable 50 ohm input, only trigger LED that flickers is the one input is connected.

It WAS a cross talk.  When I reduced the input signal from 1Vp-p to 100mVp-p, the cross talk went away.
