Title: Rigol DP832A Firmware Updating - Whats correct Sequence
Post by: NY2KW on March 17, 2020, 09:14:59 pm
I bought my DP832A about 5 years ago and have never updated the firmware.  Current sys info:  Digital vers: 1.09; Analog vers: 1.02 and Boot vers:  1.06

I want to upgrade to either 1.014 or most current on Rigol website 1.16.   I am confused about the sequence of updating.  On the Rigol firmware page--> "note 6: Firmware versions at or below 00.01.09.00.01 requires installation of a boot loader prior to firmware update.  The boot loader can be found in the ZIP download".  However no bootloader file was in the zip file just one Software Gel.   There are notes about bricking the DP832a if updating done incorrectly.    I also have Zip file for v 1.14 and that has 2 different Gel files - one  for Software Bootloader (1.09) and another Software Normal (1.14).   What is the correct sequence for updating Bootloader first or Software first?
