Agilent 2000 X-Series Signal Generator Issues
« on: March 03, 2013, 07:24:17 pm »
Hi All,

I was using the siggen in my scope today, and found some issues.
I've documented them in the videos below, and included a quick round-up too:

  • When using the square wave modulation signal, it's frequency doesn't quite match the original signal's frequency.
  • It's not possible to set the phase offset of the modulation signal... unless you count by pressing the button at the right time....
  • The trigger output is rubbish... Ideally there would be a rising edge at 0°, and a falling edge at 180° of the original signal.

Has anyone else found these issues? Has anyone found solutions?
I wonder if Agilent will offer a solution to this... hopefully it's a firmware issue and that trigger output isn't genuinely put through a comparator...
