On the Rigol website ( https://www.rigolna.com/products/digital-oscilloscopes/1000z/ (https://www.rigolna.com/products/digital-oscilloscopes/1000z/) ), I found a mention of the software option "500M memory depth." However, I cannot find any information about it. Does anyone know about this option? How does it work?

That's a mistake. The DS1054z used to come with 12M standard and an option to upgrade it to 24M. Some time ago most of the optional features of the DS1054z, including the upgrade to 24M, were made standard.

Yes, I was surprised.
I wrote an email to help@rigol.com
And here is what they replied to me:
Hello,

Yes, that didn't clarify things. So I will wait for an answer to the question of what exactly this option is :)

"Yes" what? What was the text in your email to Rigol?
Maybe there is a new hardware version of the DS1000Z series, with bigger RAM. :-//
-
I suppose only way to do it is to quote this option :)
Maybe I can upgreade my old unit to 500 M. It would be nice. More memory than best scope in work. :-DD

My question was: Hello. On the rigol.com website, I found a mention of the "500M memory depth" option on the page describing the Rigol DS1000Z series oscilloscopes. Can you please tell me if this is a software option?

Nope. No way. Not happening.
They'd have to upgrade the processing power 10x to match.
Must be a typo.

You'd received a reply from the AI bot. How it can be taken seriously

I'm not certain that Wei Zheng (Technical Sales Engineer, RIGOL Technologies, linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wei-zheng-9b46a6126 (https://www.linkedin.com/in/wei-zheng-9b46a6126)) is a bot, but it's possible :-)

Do it, take the optional 500M, same depth value as MSO8000 >:D
Typo ;)
