Rigol DS1052 or Hantek DSO-5072?

ElectronSurf:
I'm well aware of reputation of Rigol scopes but I wanted to know if Hantek DSO-5072 is any good, I want to save some bucks if possible.

I'm a hobbyist and I want to use the scope to design circuits like PSUs and audio related. also I do repair occasionally.

+1 for setting out your use cases but I think people will be wondering what your location is and the kind of prices you are looking at, as these are overpriced compared to competition in many markets. These are both older designs and there may be other value options that people here will suggest.

Meanwhile, do set up your eBay triggers to look out for secondhand differential probes, which you will find indispensable if you can find them. Unfortunately buying new, they can cost nearly as much as a scope…
adam4521:
As a UK reference, secondhand ds1054z will go for about £300, and a new SDS1202X-E costs £360. A DS1052E costs an astonishing £391. Hantek is cheaper, at about £280, but most here would argue that it is not sufficiently cheaper to be a good deal.

Rigol is about 80$ more than Hantek.
