Hi,
I have a Rigol DS1054z. When started with default factory settings (no probes connected), you see the yellow line in the centre of the scope, set to 1.00 Volts/division. Stepping down to 10 mV/division the line stays in the centre, and shows some noise as expected. Step down to the highest sensitivity of 5.00 mV/division and the yellow line jumps to the top of the display. I can turn vertical position to reposition the line to the centre again and see the noise signal. This behaviour is happening in AC and DC coupling mode of the channel, and is identical happening in each other channel. Can anyone confirm this strange behaviour, or should I return my oscilloscoop for service? Auto calibration didn't resolve this problem.
software version 00.04.01.SP2
hardware version 0.1.1

Roeland, the highest sensitivity of a DS1000Z scope is actually 1 mV/div. I assume you have selected a 10:1 probe setting, and have also installed the inofficial "500 µV/div" modification to your DS1054Z via the "Riglol" key generator. As advised in several threads and many posts in this forum, this input range is not supported by the DS1000Z hardware, and enabling the option causes side effects. Please search the forum to find how this option can be removed via SCPI commands.

Actually, there is a short thread which nicely summarizes option installation, the 500µV issue, and the uninstall step:

:) Thanks a lot for your answer ebastler. I completely missed the 500 µV/div issue reading a lot of blogs before installing the options. I'll try uninstalling the option.

That worked very good:
Used Ultra Sigma:
:SYSTem:OPTion:UNINSTall
All options are now demo again

Hi Roeland_R.
How did you reset the demo timers on the DS1054Z
-
Installed ultra sigma on my pc
Used Ultra Sigma entering command below.
:SYSTem:OPTion:UNINSTall
After this command, restarted the rigol, and it was in demo mode again. However, as you can see the countdown timer continued counting down.
Finally, entered the right code without 500 uV. (Did all the codes seperate, and checked them in installed options. DSER should do it at once) Hope this helps you...
By the way, after upgrading later to newest firmware, you also see its a 100 Mhz scope...

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply.
I forgot to add to my post.
If my trails run out will the hack still work later down the line.
Thanks

Sure, you can "obtain" license codes and enable the options either while the trial licenses are still active, or at a later time.

That's a relief.
Thanks for the reply ebastler
