HP/Agilent 6641A PS Vout terminal loose - is this by design?
« on: August 10, 2015, 06:49:23 pm »
Just got a used HP/Agilent 6641A power supply and the three screw output terminal on the back seems to be very loose (to forward/backward pressure). It's as if it is only attached by the three pins that connect the three output terminals to the main board without any kind of support brackets on the sides or back. It's either that or someone pulled hard enough on the +/-/Gnd output terminals to damage the support brackets.

For anyone with this supply or others in the 664xA series, just how loose should the three screw Vout strip (V+,V-,Gnd) be? Does it normally have some sort of supporting mechanism or bracket other than the three prongs that connect it to the main board?

I can easily bend it forward and back and have to be very careful when tightening/loosening the screws on the terminal.
