This instek is old model and will completely suck compared to the modern models. You should look at GDS-1000B series instead. http://www.gwinstek.com/en-US/products/Oscilloscopes/Digital_Storage_Oscilloscopes/GDS-1000B

The Instek GDS1104B looks very nice but seems to be almost twice as expensive as the Rigol DS1054z. The Instek does have separate vertical controls for each channel though, which is something that many people seem to find necessary. (Doesn't bother me though.)

If you compare apples vs apples - e.g. 50 MHz model vs 50 MHz model, instek is a bit cheaper than rigol.

I'd try to figure out what kind of bugs the GDS1000B has compared to Rigol. There is a whole list regarding to the DS1000Z series and Rigol isn't too quick with fixing them.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Is there anyone in the world who has not "unlocked" their Rigol 1054z to 100 MHz bw, advanced trigger suite, larger memory and record function?
