Rigol DS1102E issues
« on: January 18, 2014, 11:20:41 pm »
Hi all, I just got a DS1102E, and I've noticed a few annoying bugs. First, when you press the multi-function knob to select something, it sometimes doesn't register the key up event, and the help screen pops up. And occasionally when you turn the position knobs fast enough, it will jump backwards. I'm not sure if this is a firmware bug or not. I sent Rigol a message, and they just offered to send me a replacement. Has anyone else seen these issues?

I'm not sure what the current firmware version is, but I've got 00.04.01.00.02.

I haven't encountered any skipping or misinterpretation of steps when turning the knob so far. Missing of the key-up event and subsequent help display I've encountered once or twice, but it's very rare.

Can this scope be gently coerced into a 200Mhz model?  There was LONG thread on this meter but I couldn't extract that data. Or did Rigol kill the customer-engineered upgrade feature?

This looks like a great scope.
