Much more intuitive than both of those is the new Rigol DHO802. It has touch screen and is very fast and easy to navigate.

I wouldn't get the Rigol or Siglent now that the DHO802 exists, they are very old tech. I've been using a DHO804 for the last month and I would never go back.

I would also try to get the 4 channel model. The Rigol DHO804 is only about 60 Euros more than the DHO802. You wouldn't regret it.

Note that there are programs out there to generate license keys.

The Rigol DHO802 can easily be unlocked to 200Mhz bandwidth and 50MPts memory even though there's no official options for that.

Even after several years of putting a device on the market (scope, generator, etc.), there are still small bugs. |O
So I'll let you imagine the number of defects that a new model can have. :scared:

When you can get a scope every year, you can take a very recent model to try the new features.
Otherwise it is better to play it safe and take a proven model with many comments on the forum.

For my part, I had a DS1102Z-E. I kept it for 1 year then returned it to the importer, breakdown (I wasn't lucky) and malfunctions. :palm:
Now I have an SDS1204X-E and I'm happy with it. Of course, the price is different but you have to know what you want.

if they give you the choice

Would you get a Siglent SDS1202X-E or RIGOL DS1054Z  ?

I don't care about 4 channels, I don't care about 200 mhz

That depends 100% on what you want to use it for, which we don't know.

You've only used two words so far, the answers to those words are: Neither is "intuitive", the Siglent is "faster"

If you work on digital circuits the the Rigol is better (4 channels), if you work on Radio circuits then the Siglent is better (higher bandwidth, better FFT). Only you know that, we can't decide.

If you truly don't care then the new Rigol DHO802 is much faster and more intuitive than both of them and costs about the same. It's a MUCH better option.
