Even after several years of putting a device on the market (scope, generator, etc.), there are still small bugs.

So I'll let you imagine the number of defects that a new model can have.

When you can get a scope every year, you can take a very recent model to try the new features.
Otherwise it is better to play it safe and take a proven model with many comments on the forum.
For my part, I had a DS1102Z-E. I kept it for 1 year then returned it to the importer, breakdown (I wasn't lucky) and malfunctions.

Now I have an SDS1204X-E and I'm happy with it. Of course, the price is different but you have to know what you want.
