I'm about to buy new scope , this two scopes fit for my hobbies , mostly repairs hi-fi or vintage instruments, but really had to decide , some threads reports can be update by some mods also the keysight
hope to helped to select wich one to buy. thanks

I own the DS2072A. These two are different animals in terms of price. Keysight DSOX2002A fully specced is a much better scope, but the options will also cost you a lot. DS2072A is hackable and you can also unlock the 300Mhz.
So it really comes down to your budget. And if you're willing to hack the Rigol. Because for about $800 you can get a 300Mhz scope which has all sorts of features, while for the Keysight unlocking the features will add quite a bit to the total price of the scope.

DSOX2002A has up to 1Mpoints per channel when the option is purchased. Rigol DS2000 series has up to 56Mpoints.
But I just like my DSOX2002A. It is easy to work with. I especially love the dedicated cursors knob. (There is another multi knob, too.)

You can get good help with either in this forum but you might get even a tad more help with the Rigol here given the pretty large base of Rigol users in this forum.
The Agilent users like Agilent and the Rigol users like Rigol, and I think both generally give fair respect to the other.
You should be ok either way. Let us know what you decide.
-
in my humble opinion - the 2-ch version of the Agilent is not worth the money unless you get a good used offer somewhere.
-
You'll find lots of opinions, so you will need to decide what is right for you on your own terms.
I don't have these exact models, but have both Agilent and Rigol scopes, in my opinion...
For overall "bang for buck" Get the Rigol.
For superior performance, support, and software get the Agilent.
Given your use case I'd assume the Rigol would work fine for you, but I don't know what you value the most.

I have a 2072A. It locks up when on the LAN and just as it pleases itself, it forgets its 50 Ohm input setting, measurement fonts are so tiny I need a magnifying glass to see it, it has measurement controls that do not make sense, probes that are so flimsy that it is better not to breath on them, and its ADC clock is junk. Being too busy to put it on eBay, eventually I will, will be truly sorry for the person who will buy it. Once I get rid of it, the recouped money will be used to buy a Agilent/Keysight instrument.

Dont forget Agilent/Keysigh ebay store. Bit of a risk due to warranty.
Details about Keysight Used DSOX2024A Oscilloscope: 200 MHz, 4 Channels (Agilent DSOX2024A) (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Keysight-Used-DSOX2024A-Oscilloscope-200-MHz-4-Channels-Agilent-DSOX2024A-/171772104479?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27fe6a4f1f) 1532$.
I forget how much you can knock off with an offer. Also good time to ask about unlocks as a sweetener, etc.

I have no problems with my DS2072 for over one year and a half, that said I never used an HP/Agilent/Keysight one.
But really if I was getting one now I think the lower end DS1054z would be my choice for less than half the price and double the channels.
Edit: But then again, I've used my "upgraded" DS2072 to over 200MHz so I think I made the right choice because there was no choice when I got it :)

I personally think that the Rigol DS2072A has a more professional look than the Agilent DSOX2002A.
The bended front panel and the plastic mold on the Keysight look very cheap.
Besides the looks, the memory depth is far too small, for what you have to pay.
Moreover you can not say any longer that you pay for the name, because what's in a name, when a company keeps changing names all the time.

I don't know what for you is "professional look" but I find Rigol's "edgy" button layout pretty ugly. There's also a reason why the button layout of almost any kit made by the big brands for professional use is pretty conservative.
I'm not a big fan of the DSOX2k (it's way too basic for my needs) but I'd take its button and menu layout over Rigol's button and menu layout any day (and yes, I have used both scopes).
Also I can't say that the DSOX2k's front felt cheap.

Maybe the absolute quality is okey, but for the price you pay, you would expect more quality on the housing relatively.

Maybe there is a new firmware version where you can set the font size.

Bugs:
1) The new Large and Extra Large measurement fonts are nice, but they are reset to Normal on each power cycle. This should be retained like all the measurement settings are.
This is for the DS1000Z. It might be in the DS2000, too.
