Title: Rigol DS2xx2A and DS2xx2A-S
Post by: branadic on December 03, 2013, 05:41:37 pm
Hi,

does anyone know more about the new revision A models?
They are now available with bandwidths up to 300MHz and I was told by a german reseller that the new version also includes switchable input impedance 1Mohm / 50ohm, but I couldn't find any hint to that in the web. If that were really the case that would be great, wouldn't it?

Hi branadic.  :)

Yes, it's true. For the non A version there is already a firmware that allows 300MHz, courtesy of Cybernet.

but what is the thing/status about the LMH6518 in these?, it seems like that is something that is limiting an hacked scope somewhat?, or did I misunderstand that ?
Some say that hardware in ds2072 is same as ds2102, but it is the same also in ds2202?

Wonder how that is for the A series..

the LMH6518  is  varible BW gain Amplifier, see plot
see there is no settings for 70MHz in this clip so 70 is same as 100
also note that the BW settings on the DS4000 are 20, 100,200, 350  all part of this clip
also 20 100 200MHz limit on  the DS2302A

would be very interesting to know more about that
I've decided to get a DS2101A-S in the near future and I somehow try to find out what's possible with this
(unlocking features *cough*)
and trying to find out infos about the waveform gen inside
since you can copy waveforms from Rigol DSO to wavefrom gen, it should be possible that the integrated gen also features this :o

it would be nice if the clever people here look into the new generation DSOs :)
maybe I can help out gaining data and stuff with a jtag whenever I got this DSO, as long as it won't die and as long as someone instructs me then :)
