I want to buy a new Rigol DSA815-TG SA from a dealer without additional options and then use the information from this forum to activate the options.
But then I read a few post that some newer models can not be upgraded anymore by this procedure.
My question is:
Do I need to look for a Serial Number not greater than something
Or does it have to come with a firmware version not older than something
Can someone please give me some advise?
Thanks

I believe firmware v 00.01.09 closed the hole. So you are looking for a unit with firmware below this.

Thank you for the response.
I called around today and only units with firmware v 00.01.09 are available right now for sale.
But I was told, that the older Firmware is still available for download and can be rolled back.
I am just not sure, if that combination can be hacked at all.

keygen do not work on new 01.09 units :(
I tried to "downgrade" mine to 01.08...but then TG option dissapear(reflashing back to 01.09 TG is back).
so maybe install options with 01.08(all except TG 'cause TG is back with 01.09) and then reflash back to 01.09?? I did not try that.

Now the hacked version with 1.09 value will be higher than a new one :-+

I will oder a new DSA815-TG in a few weeks and then give it a try.
Who knows, by then may be someone has found a way to work with the new firmware.
