Rigol MSO5074 to 2 computers via CAT-5
« on: November 18, 2020, 04:47:42 pm »
What would be the  optimal way to share an oscilloscope with 2 PC's via CAT-5?

Besides disconnecting the wire in a already hectic place. IF disconnecting is required it will be done on my end behind my PC.

passive or active switch?

Only one will use at a time.

Is this possible?

If all on the same subnet an active switch should work.
The scope should respond to commands regardless of where they're from.

Buy a small Ethernet switch, and three cables. Connect 2 PC's and the scope to the switch. Done.
